Bacterial Meningitis Score as Clinical Prediction Rule in Children with Acute Meningitis

Introduction: The early presentation of bacterial meningitis and aseptic are similar however treatment outcome different. Bacterial Meningitis Score helps to differentiate from meningitis.
 Aims: To evaluate score as clinical prediction rule in children with acute Methods: This was a hospital based prospective study done at pediatric department Nepalgunj Medical College, Nepalgunj, tertiary care reference Nepal, conducted September 2020- August 2021. All the patients who were suspected during period between ages 29 days 15 years included this study.
 Results: A total 138 our 86 52 meningitis. Taking cut-off point scoreto be 1.5 it’s sensitivity specificity found 100%. Area under ROC curve 1 showing 100% predictivity . group significantly better than group.
 Conclusion: had grave prognosis associated high mortality. is helpful plan appropriate management timely.
